These indigenous grape vines grow on gentle slopes some 350 metres above sea level and approximately 100km’s inland from the west coast. The grapes were hand-harvested in the first week of October - and after coming into the winery, the parcels of fruit underwent temperature-controlled skin contact, with fermentation taking place in a combination of small and medium sized stainless steel tanks at 26°C for 21 days. The wine was then transferred into small oak barrels for 24 months of maturation and palate development, before tasting and final blending of the wine. Being bottled within 28 months after the harvest date and then rested in bottle for 4 months before release.
In the glass you have by a deep ruby red coloured wine with a garnet hue to the edge. On the nose the wine has intense aromas of dark cherries, berry fruits, fresh violets and dried spice. On the palate the wine is full and confident, with a broad mouth experience of dark fruits, with well integrated tannins, solid structure and harmonious oak due to its lengthy time in barrel, giving the wine a long and persistent finish. Decant for 45 minutes and serve at 16-18°C.

A Tuscan red wine with confidence and style.
