Grape Varietals: 90% Sangiovese, 10% blend of other red varietals.
Growing Region: Montepulciano, Tuscany, Italy
Owner / Chief Winemaker: Andrea Cecchi

This past July, I had the pleasure to spend 8 memorable days in Tuscany enjoying all things truly traditional, including local cuisine and when it came to pairing a red wine with premium quality cuts of meat - this ‘Vino Nobile’ di Montepulciano crafted in the hills of Tuscany, fully expresses the personality and character of Sangiovese inside one of the best value for money wines crafted in the region.

If you could bottle a Tuscan summer evening, including the traditional cuisine, smells, scenery and emotions, this wine could help you replay all those emotions, plus also share these rich flavours. This wine shows the elegance of such a noble and expressive varietal, from arguably the world’s most traditional winemaking region.
This 2011 Cecchi ‘Vino Nobile di Montepulciano’ exalts the best characteristics of the Prugnolo Gentile varietal of the Sangiovese family, expressing complexity and elegance that makes this wine an absolute pleasure and respected of wines. The talented team at Cecchi have an incredible understanding of the local territory from which this grape is grown along with the lengthy 2-year ageing in their cellars developing a wine with a unique and captivating character which showcases the viticultural traditions of the unique hilltop town of Montepulciano.
After the selected parcels were deemed ready for harvesting the fruit as it came into the winery underwent traditional temperature controlled fermentation of 26°C, with vinification on skins, in small stainless steel tanks for around 18 days. The fermented wine was then transferred and aged for 24 months in small oak barrels, then after careful tasting and blending it was bottled and rested for 3 months before release.
As you pour this wine into your glass, you will be greeted by a rich red colour tending to garnet around the edge. On the nose this wine has a full and engaging bouquet, revealing lifted berry notes, along with intense aromas of purple violets. The wine has a rich and broad palate - with a balanced amount of earthy, wild berry flavours, natural firm tannins, well integrated oak resulting in a harmonious, full bodied wine and a lingering finish.
This vintage has 13.5%Alc - Decant for 30-45 minutes and serve at 16-18°C.

A complex and elegant Tuscan Sangiovese red wine.
