Grape Varietals: Grenache/ Shiraz/ Mourvèdre Blend
Growing Region: Clare Valley, Australia
Owner/ Chief Winemaker: Kevin Mitchell

This range of wine from Kevin is named after the old bushman known as ‘Mr. Killerman’ who lived alone in the bush land behind Kilikanoon winery in the Clare Valley. The fruit for this wine was sourced from their Trillian's Hill vineyard which was planted in 2001, grown on gravely loam soils and benefits from an abundant water supply. The vineyard has an elevation of approximately 450-500m making it one of the highest vineyard sites in the Clare Valley.

Also a small portion of Grenache is sourced from their Walton's Block vineyard, also in the Clare Valley. This 2012 vintage of their Killerman’s Run Rhone styled red wine has been given a new lease on life, with 10% Mataro (Mourvèdre) added into the blend.
This unique varietal combination and sensational 2012 vintage combine the savoury, lifted notes of the Mourvèdre, the perfumed cherry and dark chocolate flavours from the Grenache and the robust backbone and riper dark plums and pepper characters from the Shiraz, crafted into a truly textural and captivating wine. On harvesting, the outstanding individual parcels were vinified and matured individually in small, older French oak barrels. After a good period of maturation, the unique parcels were then tasted, blended together and then bottled unfined and unfiltered in July 2013.
As you pour this wine, your glass will be filled with a bright red colour with a crimson edge. This wine has a vibrant aroma displaying dark cherries, spice notes, cloves and a hint of older French oak all nicely entwined on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with mouth-filling ripe dark berries and spice flavours, balanced by velvet tannins, integrated subtle oak characters and refreshing acidity giving this wine a nice breadth and a good persistence. The palate is true to its Rhône heritage, one that brings together all the complementary nuances and flavours of these three noble varietals in a refined and persistent experience.
This vintage has 14.5% Alc. Decant for 30-45 mins and serve at 16-18°C.

A vibrant Rhône red blend, carefully crafted in the Clare Valley.
